The Life Orientations® Method, LIFO® for short, is a unique performance improvement technology.  The LIFO® Method has numerous applications to help businesses create high performance cultures to drive sales, build teams and achieve desired business objectives.

What determines a high performance individual is partly intuitive and partly learnt.  Organisations spend a great deal of time teaching individuals the “what” – the skills and capabilities to do a job, but little on providing answers to the “how”.  Yet it is the “how” that differentiates leaders from followers, high performers from average performers, and stars of tomorrow from stars of yesterday.

The LIFO® Method is defined as a set of concepts (based on sound behavioural science theory), self-surveys and workshops designed to enhance performance by enabling individuals to make the most of their own strengths and to understand and appreciate the strengths of others, whether operating in favourable or adverse conditions.

LIFO® offers powerful learning strategies for greater personal productivity,

better interpersonal skills, and more effective teamwork.

Life Orientations® describes the way each of us lives our lives to achieve our goals and how our game plans work or don’t work for us.  It tells us where we are going wrong and offers workable suggestions on how to put it right.  The Method unlocks the hidden potential of individuals and teams to achieve maximum performance by exploring how people:
  • work together,
  • make decisions in good times and when times are stressful,
  • implement plans,
  • manage their time,
  • deal with stress,
  • work in teams,
  • lead teams, and
  • how they like to be rewarded and encouraged.

The LIFO® Method has three main influences, based on the work of Erich Fromm, Carl Rogers and Peter Drucker.  This impressive background has been translated into practical and effective diagnostic tools that have been used in most countries around the world since the late 60s.  Drs Allan Katcher and Stuart Atkins who developed the Method continue to develop and refine the model and its materials to reflect the changing needs of business and people in the 21st century.
